I strive to provide a preschool program where children are encouraged to learn and grow through a foundation of developmentally appropriate experiences where all children can succeed in a safe and nurturing environment. I believe that the environment plays a major role in the success of an early childhood program. Therefore, a classroom should be a safe and caring community where children are free to speak their minds, blossom, and grow as individuals. I emphasize active discovery learning and believe learning should incorporate trial and error, problem-solving, and creating new solutions. Therefore, our play-based, child-centered program integrates physical, cognitive, social, emotional, language, self-help, and aesthetic areas for the child’s total development, thus building their self-esteem as they develop and learn.
